Finally! Salon Straight hair at home with the ISA Professional Straightener

I have naturally curly hair, which I love but I’ve always been jealous of those girls with amazing super straight hair.  I’ve used a ton of different straighteners and hair products, and can’t ever seem to get the same results.  When I was given the opportunity to test the ISA Professional Straightener I decided to give it a shot.  It’s price point is a little higher than straighteners I have owned so I was hoping for better results.

OMG….I love love love this straightener!  Have I mentioned how much I love it?  It is worth every single penny, and I’ve learned that some things in life are worth paying extra for; apparently a hair straightener is one of them!

Did you know that the way you hold your straightener impacts how it works on your hair??  I never knew that!  The Isa Straightener is designed so you HAVE to hold it correctly and the difference is amazing.  Not only that, I’ve never been able to properly “curl” my hair with a straightener and it turns out I was holding it wrong and with the corrections made I’ve actually been able to curl my hair with the straightener and it not look awful!

You can set the temperature anywhere from 175 to 450.  My preferred setting is 430, but I have super thick curly hair, and I can get away with a much lower temperature on my daughter’s hair. 

I love the cord on this as well, it’s really long so it makes it a lot easier to use when straightening my daughter’s hair and even my own.

I tried a slimming belt....and I liked it!

I’ve never used a slimming belt before; to be totally honest until recently I wasn’t very familiar with these products at all. Recently I was given the opportunity to try one from IEasySexy, so I figured why not?

 When I first opened the box, I was like oh boy what did I get myself into? Am I going to even be able to figure out how to use this thing?? I took a few minutes to look it over, and once I actually looked at it I realized it’s actually pretty simple to use. The Velcro part is the front and you just put it around your waist and Velcro it together. Once you have it together there are two black pieces that you can adjust to the tightness that you want. The big Velcro can be adjusted as well; I assume the tighter you have it the better it’s going to work.

The most important part of this for me was, can you tell I have it on?? I’m sure if you were wearing a super tight thank top, then yes you are going to be able to tell, but my husband was unable to tell I had it on in the shirt I’m wearing in the picture, or in a t-shirt. Another thing I noticed that really affected my opinion of this product is while I had it on I think I had the best posture I’ve had in years. I have major issues with slouching and wearing this makes you stand up tall.

 These definitely run a little small as they are Asian sizes. I would have generally ordered an XL, but went with an XXL to be on the safe side and I’m glad I did. Overall, I’m really glad I gave this product a chance. My husband could notice a difference in my waist line with the product on, so this will be great for those “feeling a little chubby” days when your clothes are fitting just a little tighter than you like. At home professional hair color use...genius or foolish??

There are people in this world that may call me a cheap skate; I prefer to think of myself as frugal. This frugalness often leads me to think that I have a *brilliant* idea on how to save money! I cannot tell you the last time I paid for a haircut, or any kind of hair care service. My sisters in law are both cosmetologists and too pity on my hair a long time ago and started cutting and coloring it for me so I wouldn't do it myself. Unfortunately we now live 3 hours away from them so I’m back to at home hair care!

 You do not realize how awful box hair color is until you switch back to it from professional hair care products. I held off for a long time, but then the evil gray hairs started attacking my head and I gave in. I went to the store got a box of hair dye and….absolutely hated it. The color was nothing like I wanted or the box told me I would get. It left my hair dull and dry and I was over it the minute it was done. I left it alone because I wasn't going to risk further damaging my hair by dying it again so soon.

 Let’s fast forward about 6 weeks or so to yesterday. I noticed the evil gray hair monster was rearing its ugly head again and I made a mental note to get some hair dye next time I went to the store. Well, at about 2 in the morning I had an epiphany! I’ve watched my sister in laws dye my hair a million times, I could totally do this. So today, I made a trip to Sally’s and I was getting me some hair dye. Thankfully my sister in law had left a lot of the needed product at my house for future visits on her last visit, so I only had to pick out color. That is not nearly as easy as it sounds. The choices, oh man. Finally I decided on a brown color with a little bit of red, and some bleach. Oh yes, I was going to be real brave and put blond highlights in my hair too. 

 So I get home and I put the base color in. It was totally easy and gave me the confidence I needed for the next step….highlights! It turns out that this looks way easier to do than it actually is. I don’t know how I managed it, but my hair doesn’t look half bad to me. When I finished my husband didn't ask me what the heck I’d done to my hair, so it can’t be too bad right??

The picture on the left is before, and the picture on the right is after. How do you think I did? I couldn’t manipulate the foils very well and I think if I could find a different way or even get better at the foils I would have even better results. I apologize for the crappy photos, I'm slowly trying to improve my photography skills and I'm learning the importance of up close shots.
